Seymour and Scouts Pumpkin, Peanut Butter and Cinnamon Puppy Treats.

There is no denying that I Love my dogs more than I love most people. And coming from someone who never really had pets nor had an appreciation for animals full stop thats a pretty big statement.

Mr Batey and I had talked for quite some time about having a puppy. It was always a given for him has he had always had pets. I was a little hesitant but I had owned and managed to keep alive my guinea pigs for quite some time that Kristen surprised me with so I figured I’d work it out. So came along my little furry surprise Seymour and it was instant love. I got to hold him the whole way home from the family we bought him from a few hours drive away. A few months later after we purchased our home we added Scout to our family. One of the best decisions we have ever made. I have always cooked the treats for in our home preferring homemade over store bought and this value extends to what my pets consume. I used the fact that I had left over pumpkin that needed using in the fridge as the perfect excuse to bake them some biscuits.

1 cup of mashed pumpkin

3 cups plain flour

1/2 cup peanut butter

2 eggs

1tsp cinnamon

Combine all ingredients to form a dough. Roll on a floured surface or between 2 sheets of baking paper until about 1/4 inch thick. Bake on 180C for 15- 20 minutes, allow to cool and store in an airtight jar. These got the puppy seal of approval Seymour actually pinched one while they were cooling naughty dog!

What treats do you give your beloved pets? Do you have any favourite methods or recipes?

Happy baking, Nadia. xx
