I baked this cake a week ago to take to a friends house for a family dinner and it was an absolute hit. Honestly it is so simple it’s almost like cheating. I promised our hostess Rhea that I would blog about it so I made it again this morning so that I could get some Photo’s of it. Like the Orange Cake I made a few weeks ago this one is also a food processor cake. Shout out to my Mother In Law for the initial copy of this recipe.
Best Ever Fluffy Chocolate Cake
125g softened butter chopped
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 cups self raising flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda
1 cup of water
Preheat your oven to 160C fan forced, grease and line a spring form pan. I used a 27cm pan although if you choose a different size just adjust your cooking time.
Gather your ingredients and throw them all into a food processor and process until combined and smooth.
Pour into your cake tin and bake for roughly 50 minutes or until the cake sprigs back when touched and a skewer inserted comes out clean.
Allow it to cool and top however you wish. I usually just do a light dusting of icing sugar and some strawberries with pouring cream. This is a great cake to layer or split in two and fill. Like I said a great basic never fail recipe.
And to finish a picture of scout who was in the kitchen ‘helping’ and now has flour on her silly ears. Happy baking, Nadia. xx
